Frankenstein

Cover for my song Frankenstein, inspired to my favorite book.

Lyrics:

I was born in silence, from the hand of man,

Stitched together, yet I don’t understand,

The warmth I sought, it never came,

In their eyes, I see only shame.

I reach for the light, but it turns away,

A heart made of darkness, where love should stay,

I am but a child, in a world so cold,

Seeking a hand, but none to hold.

(Chorus)

Why do you run?! Why do you flee?!

I am a shadow of what you could be!

I sought your kindness, but you gave me fear,

Now the rage inside draws near!

I’m not a beast, I only yearn,

For the love that I never earned,

But still, you turn your eyes away,

And leave me to the dark decay.

I wandered alone, through fields and rain,

Tried to hide my scars, to ease the pain,

With every step, I hoped for grace,

But all I found was the monster’s place.

I watched you love, I saw you smile,

Wishing I could join for just a while,

But I am broken, I am lost,

Rejected by the world, at any cost.

(Chorus)

Why do you run?! Why do you flee?!

I am the curse that you placed on me!

I sought compassion, but you fed my hate,

Now I’ll burn down your cruel fate!

I tried to be more than the sum of my parts,

But you’ve carved your fear into my heart,

Now the fire rages in my veins,

I’ve become what you’ve feared and chained.

You made me a monster, you made me this way,

Cast out from the light, into decay,

Now feel my wrath, feel my despair,

I’ll drag you down into this nightmare!

Yet still, within, a flicker remains,

A hope for love beneath the chains,

But every step towards the light,

Turns into darkness in the night.

I only wanted to be seen,

To be held, to live the dream,

But now the monster’s all I am,

Lost forever, by your hand.

I will rise, I will consume,

All your love will turn to gloom!

You made this beast, now face your doom,

I am the nightmare you assumed…

I am the monster you made…
